This conference will examine the mutually reinforcing relationships among education, jobs, and Arizona's economic growth. Current research as well as the views from leaders in the field will guide the discussion.

Martha J. Kanter, Under Secretary of U.S. Department of Education brings to Arizona the latest regarding the Obama Administration's direction and policiy initiatives. Dr. Kanter served both as a President and as Chancellor for the Foothill-De Anza Community College District.

The newly published "To Learn and Earn: Arizonan's Experiences Competing in the Race for Good Jobs" will be used as a framework to view Arizona's educational success in preparing a 21st century workforce.

Panelists Senator Rich Crandall, Representative Steve Court, and Karla Phillips, Education Policy Advisor to Governor Brewer will present a preview of the 2012 legislative and policy agenda.
